Raymond A. Fuller

ASHTABULA — Raymond Arthur Fuller, age 94, of Runkle Ave. Ext., Plymouth Township, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.

He was born August 1, 1918, in Plymouth Township, the son of Edward P. and Victoria (Pilarczyk) Fuller and had been a lifelong Ashtabula resident. A 1936 graduate of Ashtabula High School, he married the love of his life, Mary Rocco, on Sept. 6, 1941 and they celebrated nearly 72 years of marriage and eleven children together.

A Veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served during World War II before being honorably discharged in November of 1945. Prior to his retirement in 1981, he worked as a milling machine operator with the Ashtabula Bow Socket for over 34 years.

A longtime member of Our Lady of Peace Parish (St. Joseph Church), he was the past president of the Holy Name Society. Ray loved gardening, woodworking, antiques, auctions, garage sales, and furniture and tool refinishing. If it was broken, he could usually find a way to fix it. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle.

His survivors include his wife, Mary; 11 children, David (Lynda) Fuller of Canfield, Paul (Jennie) Fuller of Ashtabula, Mary Ann (Andrew) Verostek of Rock Hill, S.C., Mark (Sharyn) Fuller of Canton, Rosemary (Yvonne Fayard) Fuller of Youngstown, Peter (Cheryl) Fuller of Orange, John (Lisa) Fuller of Grover, Mo., Daniel Fuller of Ashtabula, Matthew (Jeanette) Fuller of Mentor, Jeanne (Randall) Blome of Dayton, Ore. and Amy  (Saeed) Hamizadeh of Maumee, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Edward Fuller of Ashtabula.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Hybert; one granddaughter, Angela Fuller; and his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, August 3rd, at Our Lady of Peace Parish, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 1200 E. 21st St., Ashtabula. The Rev. Raymond Thomas will preside. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Plymouth Township.

A Calling Hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula.
