Star Beacon

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Barbara Ann Hineborg passed away Thursday, August 1, 2013, at the Hospice House in Charlottesville, Va., with her family around her.

She was born on Jan. 21, 1934, in Pierpont, Ohio; she was the first born of the twins and the 7th child of 11 siblings.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl F Hineborg; her parents, Willis and Elsie Lamson; sisters, Lucille Page, Leah Andre, Marie Bertrand and Betty Lindsay; and brothers, Donn Lamson, Robert Lamson Sr. and Albert Dewey Lamson.

Barbara graduated from Pierpont High School in 1952. She married Carl F. Hineborg on Feb. 28, 1953, in Chapel 3 at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colo., witnessed by long-time friends, Richard and Patricia Partch. She supported her husband with major decisions during their 56 years of marriage; building a home in 1963 in Willoughby Hills, Ohio, and moving to Kansas City, Mo., in 1972.

Barbara is survived by her three children, Linda K. Gibbons of Earlysville, Va., Kevin C. Hineborg of Olive Branch, Miss., and Susan R. Hineborg of Kearney, Mo.; and six grandchildren, Anna and Evan Gibbons, Brian, Gregory and Andrew Hineborg and Benjamin Hineborg.

Barb devoted her life to the raising and welfare of her family. As the kids were growing up, she was involved in school and community activities such as Scouts, 4-H, and PTA, all in leadership roles.

She worked outside of home from time to time as a bus driver, baby-sitter, school cafeteria worker, and cake decorator.

She enjoyed ceramic, crafts and decorating cakes. Friends and family remember her mostly for her generosity and hospitable nature; always willing to drop whatever she was doing to have a cup of coffee and visit. In later years, she enjoyed the lunches and activities of her neighborhood “Red Hat Club”.

A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. at Arley Methodist Church in Kearney, Mo., on Saturday, Sept. 21st.

In lieu of flowers, please forward donations to: Arley Methodist Church, 10803 NE 164th St., Kearney, Mo. 64060 or Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, Va. 22911.
