PAINESVILLE — David R. Arotin, age 66, of Chardon, Ohio, died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at Tri-Point Medical Center.

Born May 12, 1947, in Spangler, Pa., to Francis and Phyllis (née: Thornton) Arotin, he had been a longtime area resident.

David graduated from Chardon High School, Class of ’65, before serving in the U.S. Army. He then worked at Chardon Rubber, retiring in 2009.

David is survived by his wife, Dee (née: Downs) of Chardon; brothers, Francis E. (Francie) of Chardon, William (Linda) of Chardon and Dennis (Heather) of Newbury; many nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Carolyn Sizemore of Burton and Susan Merrill of Sarasota, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Service will be 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 6th, at the BURR FUNERAL HOME, 116 South St. (On Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square), Chardon, Ohio. Burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 7th, at Chardon Municipal Cemetery on Park Ave. in Chardon.

Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
