AUSTINBURG — Betty Elizabeth Thompson, age 80, passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at the Austinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born August 4, 1932, in Ashtabula, Ohio, she was the daughter of Jay L. and Wreatha (Woodworth) Jones and has been a lifelong area resident.
Betty worked for many years for Goodwill Industries in Ashtabula.
She attended Saybrook United Methodist Church for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed walking the area neighborhood.
She is survived by her sisters, Margaret Runnion and Barbara Fyock of Ashtabula and Marlene Riggs of Geneva; brothers, Arthur Jones of Florida and Johnny Jones of California; and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon A. Jones in 2010; brothers, Jay and Jerry Jones; sisters, Alice Dean and Dorothy Lipstone; and her parents.
Funeral Services will be held 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4th, at DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Larry Emery, of the Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will take place at Saybrook Cemetery.
Calling Hours will be held on Thursday from 5 until the time of service at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the family.
