NEW LYME TOWNSHIP — Genevieve E. “Jean” Given, age 72, of St. Rt. 46 South, New Lyme Township, died Thursday evening, Nov. 28, 2013, at her residence following a one month illness.
She was born April 14, 1941, in Cleveland, the daughter of Gordon and Agnes (McGrath) Tilden and had lived in this area the past 33 years, coming from Cleveland.
Ms. Given was a 15 year and retired employee of Andover Industries. She enjoyed crocheting.
She is survived by her companion of 32 years, Duane G. Carr; three children, Robert S. (Karen) McCourt of Brunswick, Vicki A. (Dwayne) Selman of Lefthand, W.Va. and Mary E. (Tracy) Peairs of Avon; eight grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Margaret Sheehan of Lisbon, Kathy Sutton of Westlake and Barbara Sulecki of Cleveland. She was also very fond of Duane’s children, Randy (Brenda) Carr, Kevin (Kellie) Carr and Charleen (Don) Perry and their children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, Agnes Mae and Benjamin Peairs; and a sister, Patricia Schultz.
At Ms. Given’s request, no services or calling hours will be held.
