ASHTABULA — Florence M. Lorentzen, age 96, of East 26th St., Ashtabula, Ohio, formerly of Washington Blvd. in Saybrook Township, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 8, 1917, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Frans and Marie (McCarty) Lorentzen and has been a lifetime area resident. She was a 1935 graduate of Ashtabula High School.
Retiring in 1983, she had worked for Neisner Brothers Store for 34 years, where for 13 years, she traveled to new stores teaching the management.
She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church and had been a member of the Women’s Guild at St. Joseph Church. She enjoyed reading, cooking and gardening.
Surviving her is a niece, Jacqueline Maki of Irving, Texas; and a nephew, Ronald Lorentzen of Washington D.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; a sister, Marguerite “Peg” Lorentzen in 2012; and a nephew, David Lorentzen.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 15th, at the Ashtabula Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS & CREMATORY, INC., 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with the Rev. Father Ernesto Rodriquez, of Our Lady of Peace Church, presiding. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery.
Calling Hour will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of Service at the Funeral Home.
