CLEVELAND — Leroy Paul Ridenour, age 67, of Jefferson, Ohio, passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born May 28, 1946, in Roaring Spring, Pa., the son of Victor and Harriet (Allison) Ridenour and had been an Ashtabula resident most of his life. A U.S. Navy Veteran, he served his country during the Vietnam War.
Leroy worked at Ashtabula Rubber for over 20 years.
He enjoyed fishing and playing cards, especially poker. He was always the jokester of the group trying to make people laugh. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his sons, Edward (Kelly Baker), Bruce (Bonnie) and Kenneth (Tina Hutzell) Ridenour; longtime companion, Beverly Fenton; son-in-law, Shawn Shreves; sisters, Sarah Burkhard, Joyce Ridenour and Carol Clapper; brothers, Dale, Wayne, Victor, Dennis, John and Homer Ridenour; grandchildren, Laurel, Janelle, Shawn, Colten, Jason, Erin, Stephenie, Stephen, Kenna, Briana, Paul, Parker, Paxton and Ian; two great-grandchildren, Mahalie and Amyah; and the mother of his children, Debbie Ridenour.
Leroy was preceded in death by his daughter, Paula (Ridenour) Shreves; sisters, Fannie Clark, Louise Gamlin and Bonnie and Connie in infancy; as well as his parents.
A Funeral Service will be held 12 p.m., Noon, on Wednesday, Jan. 15th, at the DUCRO FUNERAL SERVICES AND CREMATORY, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula. Friends may call on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of Service at Noon.
