GILBERTS, Ill. — Mr. Donald Ray Murray, age 86, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at JourneyCare in Barrington, Ill.
Donald was born on March 14, 1927, in Mansfield, Ohio, the son of the late John C. Murray and Ruth Strother Murray. He was a graduate of Case Institute.
He was a Veteran of the United States Armed Forces and later, a retired Chemical Engineer and Project Manager for Henkel Corporation.
He was a member of Prospect Presbyterian Church (now Trinity Presbyterian Church) of Ashtabula, Ohio, and sang in the choir. He was also an avid bridge player and American Contract Bridge League Silver Life Master.
Mr. Murray was preceded in death by his brother, John Murray; former wife and mother of his four children, Irene Murray; his wife, Bobbie Jean Murray; and granddaughter, Andrea M. Stegmann.
Survivors include sons, Jim Murray of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., and Michael Murray of Trabuco Canyon, Calif.; daughters, Kristine Murray of Ashtabula, Ohio, and Gail E. Stegmann of Seneca, Ill.; sister, Ruth Williams of Davenport, Iowa; grandchildren, Pauline J. Siler, Tonja M. Siler-Johnson, Brianna J. Siler, Emilie R. Ferguson, John Murray and Steven R. Stegmann; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
