CLEVELAND — Arnold W. Burton Sr., age 78, of Austinburg, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at University Hospital of Cleveland.
Born June 1, 1935, in Ashtabula, Ohio, he was the son of Arnold and Martha (Williams) Burton.
Mr. Burton was retired with 42 years service as a freight conductor with the Pennsylvania, Penn Central and Conrail Railroads.
He loved reading and gardening, and was especially fond of his grandson Matthew Hibbert.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret (Cusano) Burton of Austinburg Township; children, Arnold W. Burton Jr. of Merritt Island, Fla., Thomas Burton of Gold Bar, Wash., Karen (Steve) Hufenbach of Seven Hills, Ohio, Kimberly (David) Hibbert of Madison and Mark Burton of Cleveland; grandchildren, Richard Burton, Michael Burton, Michael Burton, Kim Burton and Matthew Hibbert; and great-grandchildren, Kayla, Savanna, Angelina and Michael.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial Service will be 1 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 11th, in the Robert S. Morrison Lecture Center at Grand River Academy, 3042 College St., Austinburg, with Pastor Joe Tyrpak officiating. A fellowship lunch will follow. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery in Ashtabula.
