DAYTON — Candace Vedna Arcaro, age 64, of Dayton, Ohio, formerly of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014.
She was born Feb. 16, 1949, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of the late Owen and Vedna (Lemley) Girten.
Candace was a member of Abiding Christ Lutheran Church in Fairborn; and a former member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Conneaut, where she served as council president.
She had been employed with the Community Counseling Agency in Ashtabula. Candace served as a board member of the Conneaut Human Resource Center; founded the food pantry; and volunteered with the Salvation Army.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, James; two children, David (Erin) Arcaro of Lebanon, Ohio, and Angela (Brad) Wade of Montgomery, Ala.; two granddaughters, Riley and Emily; a brother, Gary (Luanna) Girten of Plain City, Ohio; two sisters, Beverly Girten of Arlington, Va., and Rebecca (Fred) Strong of Dayton; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
A Funeral Service will be held 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10th, in the Abiding Christ Lutheran Church, 326 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road, Fairborn, Ohio, with Pastors Craig Fourman and Sue Nelson officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5 p.m. until the time of service at the Church.
