GENEVA — Chester Nierzejewski, age 91, of Geneva, passed away Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Geneva Village Retirement Center.
Born July 6, 1922, in Jefferson, he was the son of Ladika (Godlewski) and Stanslaw Nierzejewski and he married Eleanor J. Bertolotti in Jefferson, Ohio on August 31, 2001. Chet served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre.
He was employed at Reliance Electric in Ashtabula for 34 years before retiring in 1984. He enjoyed building things around the home, traveling with his family and spending time with his four legged friend “Cody.”
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; sons, Gerald (Alisa) Nierzejewski of Saybrook, and Michael (Connie) Nierzejewski and Nicholas (Kimberly) Nierzejewski, both of Kingsville; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by five step-children, Cindy Clark, Darla Corkhill, Kimberly Haney, Lori Carpenter and Christopher Bertolotti; 12 step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stan and Ladika; his first wife, Jo Ann; and sisters, Josephine Kaminsky and Mary Lenart.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 8th, at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva. Final resting place will be at Oakdale Cemetery in Jefferson.
