KINGSVILLE TOWNSHIP — James L. Lamson Sr., age 78, of Creek Road, Kingsville Township, died Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 25, 2013, at UHHS-Conneaut Medical Center.
He was born May 4, 1935, in Conneaut, the son of Willis and Elsie M. (Shenneman) Lamson and had been an Ashtabula Co. resident all of his life.
Mr. Lamson took disability retirement from SCM Corp. in 1989 after 21 years of employment.
He was a member of the Conneaut Eagles and the Conneaut Moose Clubs. He was a Raceway 7 enthusiast, spending much time working and volunteering at the race track and enjoyed watching the races.
Survivors include three sons, James L. Lamson Jr. of Kingsville Township, Douglas E. Lamson of Oakwood Village and Thomas W. Lamson of Pierpont Township; a daughter, Debra E. Sparks of Grafton; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ada Telepak and Darlene Lamson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Donn, A. Dewey and Robert Lamson; and five sisters, Lucille Page, Marie Bertrand, Barbara Hineborg, Betty Lindsey and Leah Andre.
Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m., Monday, at the Jefferson Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS AND CREMATORY, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with Alisa Nierzejewski, Certified Celebrant, leading the Service. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
Calling Hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, at the Funeral Home.
