ASHTABULA — Paul J. Marshall, age 87, of Thistlewood Court, Saybrook Township, Ohio, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, in the Hospice Unit at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Born April 27, 1926, in Ft. Madison, Iowa, he was the son of Virgil and Elizabeth Marshall.
He was a Veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. He had been employed by Sherwin-Williams Company in Ashtabula Township until his retirement.
He is a member of Peoples Baptist Church and VFW Post #943 of Ashtabula.
He enjoyed hunting and reading. He loved music, boxing and other sports, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He also liked traveling with his third wife, Alice, and going on cruises.
Surviving him are six daughters, Pauletta Marshall of Ashtabula, Cheryl (James) Staton of North Carolina, Karen Brown of Columbus, Renee Young of Ashtabula, Elizabeth Wayets of Iowa, and Yvonne (Mike) Harchalk of Ashtabula; three sons, Leon Marshall of Kentucky, Paul (Roberta) Marshall of Iowa and Treco (Patricia) Young of Florida; twenty six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three wives, Margaret, Juanita and Alice; four sons, Valgene Young, Daniel, Virgil, Michael and Jeffrey Marshall; and five brothers, Samuel, Thomas, Isaac, James and Joseph.
Funeral Service will be 12 p.m., Noon, on Friday, Dec. 20th, at the Jefferson Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS & CREMATORY, INC., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio, with the Rev. Neroy Carter and Pastor Mitchell Jones officiating. Burial will be in Eagleville Cemetery with VFW Post #6846 conducting Military Rites.
Calling Hour will be Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of Service at the Funeral Home.
