CONNEAUT — Dorothy E. Bennett, age 96, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 29, 2013.
She was born Dec. 19, 1916, in Conneaut, Ohio, the daughter of the late Jay and Zella (Rhoades) Hogle.
Dorothy retired as a cook from Monroe Elementary School; and in her younger days was active as a Sunday School teacher and 4-H leader. She enjoyed her grandchildren and many hobbies including sewing, crocheting, cooking, gardening and reading.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Bennett of Conneaut, Ohio; her son, Lester (Betty Jean) Bennett of New Concord, Ohio; two grandsons, Michael (Kristen) Bennett of Cambridge, Ohio and Brian (Teresa) Bennett of New Concord, Ohio; five great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Matthew and Julie Bennett of Cambridge, Ohio, and Derek and Nathaniel Bennett of New Concord, Ohio; as well as many nieces, nephews and more distant relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; five brothers, Lloyd, Clifford, Walter, Carl and Paul Hogle; and sisters, Marjory Anderson and Elizabeth Aiken.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Monday, June 3rd, at MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, with the Rev. Dr. Roger P. Hogle, of South Ridge Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Kelloggsville Cemetery.
Calling Hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, June 2nd, and also on Monday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of Service, at the Funeral Home.
