ASHLAND — Bryce R. T. Seymour, age 53, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, in Ashland, Ohio.
Born March 20, 1959, in Painesville, Ohio, he was the son of Richard D. Seymour and Jessia Bradshaw. Bryce graduated from Madison High School in 1977. He graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in Accounting and Aviation.
Bryce had a private pilot's license and was a licensed captain with the U.S. Coast Guard.
Bryce was an avid softball and basketball player. When he was a coach with the Madison freshman boys basketball team, they won the freshman championship. Bryce started the Geneva Cavs in 1998. He expanded to five teams and assisted in adding five more teams. Bryce was the coach of the Cavs AAU team and took his teams to Las Vegas for tournaments.
He is survived by three sons, Patrick of Columbus, Sean of Chardon and Clayton of Painesville; one sister, Grayce (Joseph) Mallone of Geneva; one brother, Max (Karen) of Wichita Falls, Texas; and two nieces, seven nephews and 15 great-nieces and nephews.
There will be a reception in celebration of Bryce’s life from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7th, at Chops Grill and Tap House, I-90 and Route 534 in Geneva, Ohio.
