SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP —  Marilyn S. Rebera, age 81, of Center Road, Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away at Saybrook Landing on Wednesday, May 29, 2013.

Born Sept. 13, 1931, in Ashtabula, she was the daughter of Herman and Charlotte (Kottari) Westcott. Marilyn was a life-long resident of Ashtabula County. She graduated from Harbor High School and married Raymond J. Rebera.

Marilyn worked for Tele-Media for several years until she and one of her “favorite” sister-in-law’s, Rita, decided to get into the catering business, which they ran successfully for 5 years. More recently she worked for the Harbor Library.

She enjoyed reading, singing, playing cards and dancing. She loved to garden and can her own vegetables that she would use while making her signature dishes in the kitchen. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, thanks to her wonderful grandson Thomas, and her precious great-granddaughter, Catalina, was the sparkle of her eye!

She is survived by her four loving daughters, Ann Rebera of Charlottesville, Va., Eileen (Tim) Bowler of Ashtabula, Carole Mortimer of Ashtabula and Mary (Luke) Sawicki of Ashtabula; her sister, JoAnn Pavolino of Ashtabula; six grandchildren: Marie Bowler, T.J. Bowler, Amanda (Cody) Pantoja, Sabrina Sawicki, Thomas Sawicki and Sami Mortimer; and one great-grandchild, Catalina Pantoja.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond in 1978; and her companion of over 20 years, James “Bud” Beranek.

Funeral Services will be held 12:00 p.m., Friday, June 7th, at the Ashtabula Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS AND CREMATORY, INC., 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with the Rev. Kenneth Roberts, of the Pentecostal Church of God, officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Ashtabula.

Private calling hours will be held.
