Alveria L. Loeffler

BROOKFIELD — Alveria L. Loeffler, of Brookfield, Ohio, formerly of Ashtabula, heard the choir of Angels singing as she entered eternal peace on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at 11:39 a.m., in the Emergency Room of Sharon Regional Hospital following a sudden illness. She was 90.

Alveria was born in Arnold, Pa. on June 17, 1923, a daughter to Arlington and Hazel (George) Daughenbaugh. She graduated in 1941 from New Kensington High School, and married Carl F. Loeffler on Christmas Eve in 1944.

Most of her life, Alveria found employment as a Secretary. Most recently, she worked for Molded Fiberglass, Ashtabula. She had also been a Media Clerk for the Warren City School District.

Her memberships included: North Kingsville Presbyterian Church; Geneva F.O.E. Ladies Auxiliary where she was Past President; 50-year member of the American Business Woman's Association; Amaranth, Rebekah Lodge, Order of Eastern Star, all of Ashtabula County; and she was very active with the Ashtabula Senior Center.

Her favorite activities were playing bingo, making crafts, sewing, making Halloween Costumes, dressing up and playing Mrs. Claus, and helping with any kitchen activities at First United Methodist Church of Sharon. But most of all, she loved being a mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter, Gwen I. Martino and her husband Dan of Brookfield; her grandchildren, Daniel J. and Alessandra L. Martino; as well as her extended family whom she loved dearly, the Martino's.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband who passed on June 7, 1994; her brothers, Oscar and George Daughenbaugh; and her sisters, Louave Shoemaker and Virginia Daughenbaugh.

A time of gathering will be held to honor Alveria’s life on Friday, Nov. 22nd, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church, Sharon, Pa. Her celebration continues with a Funeral Service on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Church.

As suggested by her, material contributions can be made to the Ashtabula County Council on Aging, 4632 Main Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.

Coordination of this tribute for Alveria will be presented by Daniel Briceland, Owner & Director of BRICELAND FUNERAL SERVICES, 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403 (330-509-3135).
