Lee W. Robishaw

KINGSVILLE — Lee Warner Robishaw, age 80, of Kingsville, passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.

Born Nov. 21, 1933, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of the late Ralph Herrick and M. Jeannette (Warner) Robishaw, he was a lifelong area resident. Lee was a U.S. Veteran; he served his country for two years in the Army, two years in the Army Reserve and four years in the Naval Reserve. On June 16, 1956, he married the love of his life, Evelyn Hinkle, at the Kingsville Presbyterian Church.

Lee was a member of the Kingsville Presbyterian Church for over 60 years, and a past member of the Kingsville Volunteer Fire Department. Lee worked for many years on the family farm. He also worked at General Tire and then Vygen, as a chemical production operator, prior to his retirement.

He was passionate about antique tractors, especially John Deeres. He owned and restored a rare 1960, two cylinder John Deere 330 S, which he displayed in more than 350 tractor shows throughout the Midwest and Canada over the past 20 years. He was a longtime member of the Ashtabula County Antique Engine Club, and a charter member of the North East Ohio Two Cylinder Club. He was also a member of the Orion Masonic Lodge, #353, for nearly 40 years. Besides all things John Deere, throughout his life he enjoyed drag racing, motocross racing, snowmobiling, boating and waterskiing, as well as watching the Buckeyes, Indians, Browns and Cavs.

Lee was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Evelyn; and his parents.

He is survived by his daughter, Lori Robishaw of Kingsville; son, Bruce Robishaw of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; his brother, Ted (Martha) Robishaw of Kingsville; his dear friend, Bernice Comp of Jefferson, whose company he enjoyed for the last decade; and eight nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 3rd, at Kingsville Presbyterian Church, 3056 W. Main St., Kingsville, which will include a Masonic Service, led by his brother Ted Robishaw, and will be followed by a light luncheon in the church’s fellowship hall. The Rev. Mary Susan Pisano will officiate.
