Ken English now fixing vehicles at different location

CONNEAUT — Ken English of Conneaut is fixing old vehicles at a new address.

After working on the city’s west side, a few months ago English moved his shop to the downtown district at 446 State St. The migration east has already paid dividends, he said.

“It’s a lot better location,” English said. “There’s most visibility (from busy Route 20).”

English, a mechanic for five years, handles a wide range of repairs, including brakes, exhaust, suspension and custom fabrication. He plans to offer custom exhaust work soon. English said he is seeing more 4-wheel work, thanks to the growing popularity of off-road activities in the region. English also offers a 24-hour, medium-duty wrecker service

Born and raised in Conneaut, English spent 12 years working and living in the Orlando, Fla., area. But living near the House of the Mouse proved to be too much of a rat race. English returned because “I wanted to be back around my family,” he said.

English said maintains 9 a.m.-5 p.m. weekday business hours so he can tend to his young son, Keaton.

The majority of English’s customers hail from the Conneaut, and many live in the surrounding area, he said.

“We’re a new, family-oriented business that wants to help the people in town,” English said. “We’re not looking to get rich. We just want to pay the bills and keep people happy. We want to be fair with the customers.”
