Children take to stage in ‘Mirror Image’

ASHTABULA —  The Children’s Theater Production Class presents “Mirror Image: A Real Enchanted Musical” tonight through Sunday.

Fantasy comes face to face with reality in this pop musical where the best — and the worst — of both worlds meet. In the fairy tale world, princes are charming and the stepsisters are wicked and the woodsman dreams of being a hero. When the stepsisters get zapped into the real world and into a real school, the woodsman jumps at the chance to rescue them. But the stepsisters do not want to be rescued, for in the “real” world mean girls are popular.

Times for the shows are today at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

The show is directed by Aaron Drews, and the members of the cast are: Alex Smallwood, Claudia Smallwood, Cassie Burnham, Allie Perry, Matea Kanicki, Finley Morris, Ali Kiphart, Sydney Gilbert, Caitlyn Burnham, Ben Anservitz, Kiden Housel, Dennis Dixon, Katie Stouffer, Corrina Severino, Sadie Drozd, Hannah Kile, Broden Orr, Arianna Hernandez, Keira Varckette, Sophia Licate, Toni Moyers, Macy Seymour, Sarah Riley, Taylor Cotton, Skylar Nettles, Amelia Riddle, Kylie Klug, Jarod Emerson, Broden Orr, Ben Anservitz, Jonah Anservitz, Maria Hanson, Sadie Nejbauer, Julianne Sheldon and Rachel Tackett.

  • wd heat rocky 9 .jpg ‘The Rocky Horror Show’ is well performed, funny and worth seeing

Mention “The Rocky Horror Show” and almost everyone has an opinion, whether they've seen the movie or stage adaptation or not. It has been a cult classic for over three decades, since its release in 1975, and it has garnered plenty of criticism and negative commentary. Because public reaction to this extremely odd piece of musical comedy has been so strong for so long, many with an opinion have never even seen the movie or play. And many certainly do not understand that it is a spoof of shock theater. Yet they continue to berate the show as immoral and lewd.
