ASHTABULA —  Auditions for G. B. Community Theatre’s “An Evening of One Acts” will be held at the Ashtabula Arts Center Jan. 2 and 3 from 7 to 9 p.m.

The production of short, one-act plays written by local authors will be directed by Marti Dixon of Geneva.  Those auditioning should bring a prepared monologue (not to exceed one minute). There will also be readings from the scripts.

“An Evening of One Acts” will be performed on March 1, 2 and 33.

Auditions will also be held for “Our Town” on Jan. 27 and Jan. 28 at 7 p.m.

“Our Town” will be directed by Stephen Rhodes of Conneaut.  A classic by Thornton Wilder, “Our Town” follows the Webb and Gibbs families in the small town of Grover’s Corners as their children fall in love, marry and eventually — in one of the most famous scenes in American theatre. Edward Albee called “Our Town” “…the finest play ever written by an American." Performance dates are April 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 2013.

Those auditioning should prepare a monologue of no more than 90 seconds. Readings will also be done from the script. Please bring a list of calendar conflicts.

Both auditions are first come, first served.  Everyone is encouraged to audition. Beginning actors are welcome.
