‘Miracle Worker’ play auditions next week

ASHTABULA — Auditions for the Ashtabula Arts Center production of “The Miracle Worker” by William Gibson, will be held Tuesday and Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Ashtabula Arts Center.
Readings will be from the script.
Gibson's dramatization of the story of Helen Keller is one of the most successful and warmly admired plays filled with some of the most turbulent, violent and emotion-packed scenes ever presented on the stage.
Parts are available for five men and six women from ages 12 - 65, including at least one African-American adult female, and at least one African-American young boy and girl.
Especially physically and emotionally challenging is the role of Helen, to
be played by an actress of age 9 to 16.
Performance dates will be Jan. 23, 24, 25, 30, 31, February 1, 6, and 7. Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows will begin at 8 p.m. Sunday matinees begin at 2 p.m.
