Rabbit Run gets new instructors Star Beacon MADISON — With the start of a new school year and the release of the fall class schedule, Rabbit Run Community Arts Association has also added two new instructors.
Jennifer Webster joins the RRCAA staff as the drama instructor. She is a Syracuse University graduate with a musical theater major. Webster has been involved in theater since7, performing in productions at Rabbit Run Theater, the Fine Arts Association in Willoughby and the Lake Erie Arts Program. The drama curriculum at Rabbit Run, with Webster’s input, has been updated to incorporate more drama opportunities for the young child while still providing in- depth study for the older and more proficient theater student. For those 3 to 5, puppet play introduces preschoolers to drama through the use of puppets and favorite nursery rhymes and stories. Reader’s Theater (ages 6 to 10) explores acting basics and develops reading skills by focusing on diction, voice projection and self confidence. Introduction to acting, for ages 10 to 17, covers the basics of acting including voice, character development and audition skills. All classes are weekly one-hour classes; Puppet Play is a 45-minute class. Starting date for all classes is Oct. 2. Black has been playing percussion since he was 12 and studied music education at Ohio University. He joined the Navy and played drums and percussion in the Navy Bands for six years in both San Diego and San Francisco. He plays with the jazz trio SAD. He has taught percussion privately at the Fine Arts Association, the Geauga Music Center Inc. and Academy Music in Cleveland Heights.
