It’s time for everyone to get BACK TO CLASS Star Beacon Summer may be coming to a close, but art classes are opening at the Ashtabula Arts Center and Conneaut Community Center for the Arts.
Yoga classes at the Conneaut Community Center for the Arts will be taught by Paula Knepp. “The benefits of Yoga are amazing for all ages. Doctors have realized the many benefits of yoga and are recommending this ancient form of internal exercise to many of their patients. Very beneficial for those who suffer from the stiffness of arthritis and other aliments that restrict movement,” Knepp said. Classes are offered Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9 a.m. and Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. A time to dance The Conneaut Community Center for the Arts has hired Theresa “Tessa” White as the new dance director. She will be offering a complete selection of classes including ballet, pre-ballet for the little ones, jazz, hip hop, musical theater and a stretch and strengthening. An adult level ballet class is offered for novice as well as past dancers. Class level for children’s classes will be determined by instructor. Age range for classes is 3 years old through adult. Classes begin Sept. 8. All dances classes will resume Sept. 8. Learn to tap dance with Penny Armeni on Wednesdays this fall. Classes are open to girls and boys ages 5 and older. Have a ball Ballroom dancing will begin a six-week session Sept. 10 with Susan and Mark Warner. The class is a beginning level ballroom class at 7:30 p.m. in the dance studio. Class fee is $70 per couple non-member or $63 per couple center member discount. Classes are also gearing up at the Ashtabula Arts Center. Pre-registration is required for all classes. Arts center members will receive a 10 percent discount off of class fees. For a complete schedule of classes offered in art, music, dance and theater, contact the center at (440) 964-3396.
