Lady Midnight Riders perform in Saybrook

— SAYBROOK — Lady Midnight Riders, a band that plays a blend of rock, blues, Latino, country, polkas and 50s and 60s stuff, begin performing each Sunday at 2 p.m. at Java Net Cafe, Route 20.
The programs will be recorded and air on Conneaut local access channels 21 (Time-Warner) and 6 (Cablesuite 541).
The band was created two years ago by Ginger Racey of Ashtabula. She was involved in music most of her life and started as a drummer in Ginger and the Rebels.
She later had a group called the Gingersnaps and had her own radio show on WWOW in Conneaut.
Racey recorded at Peppermint Productions in Youngstown, with songs like “Proud Mary” and “What a Price.”
Her career was sidelined for a year after being thrown from a horse, but used those experiences when performing at nursing home. She emphasized therapy, faith and exercise to residents during the concerts.
Besides Ginger Racey on keyboard, the band includes Tammy Racey, Miriam Gandee and on percussion, Diane Bagnall.
They sometimes include comedy skits and songs with Ginger’s grandson, William.
There will be food and beverage at the concert and the band is recording a CD.
