ASHTABULA — The Good Life Singers will be bringing good times and great tunes in a show that's all about The Rat Pack today and Saturday at 7: 30 p.m. at the Ashtabula Arts Center
Those famous and fab entertainers, with an abundance of class, style and stunning panache included Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, Joey
Bishop and Peter Lawford. They were among the biggest acts around in the
1950s and 60s.
A non-profit organization made up of volunteer members who love to sing, The
Good Life began in 1976 and has been a part of the arts center and since its origin. Directed by Angela Ackley and accompanied by Beverly Applebee, the Good Life performs both Christmas and spring concerts.
A free reception will be held following the performance. Cost is $8 for adults and $7 for seniors. A $1 discount will be given on tickets purchased in advance either at the arts Center or from a Good Life performer. Group rates are also available. Meanwhile, the arts center will be presenting a free spring performance of its new children's choir, The Spotlight Singers, Sunday at 3 p.m. Admission is free and their will be a reception following.
The Lake Shore Artists will be holding an artists exhibit and sale at the arts center starting May 3 and running throughout the month. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The exhibit can also be viewed before theater performances and during intermission. Admission to the exhibit is free.
An opening reception will be held this Friday, May 9 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Visitors can view the exhibit and meet many of the group members. Light
refreshments will be served. Admission is free.
The Lake Shore Artists is a non-profit organization that culitvates the visual arts through education, exhibitions, demonstrations, critique sessions and painting outings. The group started in November of 1973 as the Professional Artist of Ashtabula County.
