GENEVA — The Friends of the Geneva Public Library will host a used book sale March 9 and 10 at the library on Sherman Street. The sale will support the Bookmobile and other library programs.
The two-day sale will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The books will be sold for $1 for two bags on both days. Geneva Library book bags will also be available.
Friends club coordinator Ruth Bogue said the sale “doubles the value” this year.
“This time we are offering two bags of books and materials for $1, so that’s double the value,” she said. We have a huge selection of good condition used books, magazines, videos and more.”
Bogue said the sale will be in the library meeting room and is made possible by area residents who donated books. The Friends group has a selection of used books on sale throughout the year, and the regular “book sale room” will also be open March 9 and 10.
“We update the stock in that room regularly,” she said.
The money earned at the book sale will support library programs, including the popular summer reading program, the Bookmobile and more.
Bogue said volunteers are need to help move the boxes in and out of the meeting room of the library for the sale. “Please call if you can volunteer,” she said. “We are in need of some teens or even a few strong men to help with the set up of the sale and the take down.”
