ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP — Before the bride and groom say “I do,” and enjoy their wedding day, many decisions need to be made and the ladies at Will You Accept My Proposal? want to make dreams come true.
Will You Accept My Proposal?, a new silk floral design, rentals and more, is a home-based business that focuses on custom bridal elegance.
Lynnette Maydak, owner and silk floral designer, and Renee Siekkinen, assistant and also a silk floral designer, decided to join creative forces after discovering they had similar career goals.
“Separately we had been floral designing; our daughters go to school together and that is how we became friends four years ago,” Siekkinen said.
“One day we got to talking and thought ‘why not’ we both love this so much and our personalities and individual talents complement one another,” Maydak said.
For the time being, the showroom is located inside Maydak’s basement. It is a goal to obtain a store front as soon as possible. But don’t let the basement fool you — the room is gorgeous and provides varied examples of what these creative ladies are capable of doing.
Just what does Will You Accept My Proposal? have to offer?
Maydak and Siekkinen can customize any bridal accessory including: unity candles or sand sets, guest books or guest trees, veils and headpieces, favors, ring bearer pillows and flower girl baskets, toasting glasses, server sets, card boxes and much more.
Did we say ‘sand sets?’
“This is the latest alternative to the traditional unity candle. Instead of lighting a candle, the couple each pour into a common vase their own color of sand and the pattern it creates is unique to them, and they can display their sand creation in their home,” Maydak said.
The ladies will accommodate all tastes, from the traditional to seasonal, and from contemporary to simple to elaborate.
“The sky is the limit to what we can do, if a bride can dream it up we can make it come true,” Maydak said. “We use only the best silks available for our bouquets and arrangements.”
Will You Accept My Proposal? also has a beautiful array of rental items including: a lighted bridal arch, a huge silk backdrop with three columns, candelabra’s, table skirts, accent lighting, card boxes, pretty accessory items to decorate ladies rooms or banquet rooms, and more.
“Accent lighting is really awesome and very popular now,” Siekkinen said. “They are discrete spot lights that add the color(s) of your choice to the room.”
All rentals require a a refundable deposit.
If weddings were not enough, these ladies can also customize any shower, rehearsal dinner, anniversary party, seasonal party, corporate party or private parties.
“We want brides to feel comfortable and come for a free consultation,” Maydak said. “Look around and tell us your ideas, we will put a sample together and see if you like it.”
