Second shooting victim dead
A second person has died after being shot Monday in the Ashtabula Harbor. Lydia Aviles, age 43, of Ashtabula died overnight at Cleveland MetroHealth Medical Center, police said.
Three shot, one dead in Ashtabula Harbor
Three people were shot in the Ashtabula Harbor early this afternoon. One person was pronounced dead at the scene on Norman Avenue and the other two were taken to Ashtabula County Medical Center. Ashtabula police officers are looking for two gunmen who were described by police as black males dressed in dark clothing. Police say 3 dead after shooting at Maryland mall
Police in Maryland say three people died Saturday in a shooting at a mall in suburban Baltimore, including the presumed gunman.
Interstate 90 eastbound is open as of 5:12 p.m.
Eastbound lanes of Interstate 90 in Erie County were opened at 5:12 p.m. today following completion of emergency repairs to the Pond Road Bridge.
Portion of Interstate 90 eastbound closed in Conneaut
Interstate 90 eastbound was closed late Thursday between Route 7 in Conneaut and Route 6N in Springfield Township, Pa. A tractor-trailer truck that struck the Pond Road bridge just inside the Pennsylvania line prompted the closure. The freeway won’t reopen until an analysis of the bridge is complete, officials said.

Bond set for Carla Hague
Carla Hague, who is suspected of poisoning her husband, Judge Charles Hague, waved her appearance at a bond hearing in Ashtabula Municipal Court today. Bond was set at $100,000 cash with 10 percent surety with a number of stipulations. Read Friday’s newspaper for the details.
Arrest made in judge’s poisoning
The wife of an Ashtabula County Common Pleas judge has been arrested in connection with the poisoning of the judge.
Carla Hague, wife of Probate and Juvenile Judge Charles Hague, was being held Tuesday in the Lake County Adult Probation Facility on charges related to the poisoning of her husband.
It is believed Judge Hague was poisoned with antifreeze in September.
Woman in fetus case turns self in
A 28-year-old area woman wanted for questioning in the discovery of a fetus in an Ashtabula Township residence Tuesday morning made contact with Ashtabula County Sheriff’s detectives Wednesday morning, sources said. See Thursday’s Star Beacon for more details.
Fetus found in closet
The Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a fetus found in the closet of an Avon Boulevard home in Ashtabula Township today.
