Dorset woman found guilty in hitman case

JEFFERSON — Angel Brown of Dorset Township was found guilty Friday afternoon of two counts of conspiracy to commit aggravated murder after three days of testimony in Ashtabula County Common Pleas Court.

Brown, 36, was led away by sheriff’s deputies after the verdict was read and will remain in jail pending a sentencing hearing still to be scheduled.

Prosecutors said Brown paid an acquaintance $4,000 in January 2012 to either kill or arrange the killing of her late husband’s first wife. Brown was upset that all three of the woman’s children were added to a wrongful death action Brown had initiated, prosecutors said.
