• Anthony J. Garey, 25, 16852 Whitney Road, Montville, pleaded guilty Jan. 21 to the charge of possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. He was sentenced to 12 months in prison with 128 days jail time credited and will be subject to a period of post-release control. He must pay the court costs and his driver’s license was suspended for six months.

• Charles L. Johnson, 69, 6638 Dodge Road, Orwell, appeared Jan. 22 for his sentencing hearing on the previous conviction of attempted rape, a second-degree felony. He was sentenced to four years in prison with seven days jail time credited and will be subject to a period of post-release control. He must pay the court costs.

• Desmond I. Turner, 21, 3600 Lake Ave. Apt. 702, Ashtabula, pleaded guilty Jan. 22 to the charge of breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony. He was sentenced to 6 months in prison with 15 days jail time credited and will be subject to a period of post-release control. He must pay the court costs.

• Jonathan M. Bowens, 38, 728 W. 33rd St., Ashtabula, pleaded guilty Jan. 23 to the charge of possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. He was sentenced to nine months in prison with 91 days jail time credited and will be subject to a period of post-release control. He must pay the court costs and his driver’s license was suspended for one year.

• Michael S. Parker, 26, 7812 Mill St., Williamsfield, appeared Jan. 23 for his sentencing hearing on the previous convictions of theft, a fourth-degree felony, and burglary, a third-degree felony. He must complete two years of intensive supervised probation and must pay the court costs.

• Clarence R. Salway, Jr., 46, 4040 Route 322, Orwell, appeared Jan. 23 for his sentencing hearing on the previous conviction of receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony. He must complete two years of basic supervised probation and was fined $200 plus court costs.
